How does it work:

How often are classes?
Classes are once a week at your scheduled time.

How long are classes?
From 45 minutes to 1:15 depending on the class. Tiny Hands (Ages 3-4) is 45 min. Introduction to Art (Ages 5-6) is 60 min. All other classes are 1:15 minutes including all Homeschool classes regardless of age.

How long are we signing up for?
You are registering for a 9-month class that parallels the school calendar, August through May. Or whatever remains of the class when you register.

How do payments work?
Tuition payments are processed automatically on the first of the month following your initial registration.

What is the cancellation policy?
The one-time Registration and Art Supply fees are non-refundable once class has started.   We recognize that routines may change and are happy to change your class schedule as availability permits. If your student can no longer continue their class, we require a 30-day cancellation notice to allow for time to fill your students spot.

Can we reschedule a class?
Yes! We understand family schedules. Just contact your teacher to arrange a different time or makeup class. Make-up classes must be arranged within the same week that your student missed their class.  We do ask you to limit the number of adjustments, however.

Can we switch enrollment days?
Yes. Just contact your teacher to make the switch (provided there is available space).

Do parents stay for class?
Not normally. If your child needs and extra hand during class, please contact us.

Do we need to bring any supplies?
Nope! We supply everything you need in most cases. There are some projects where a student may bring a photo or object from home.

Can we start mid-school year?
Yes! Enrollment is open throughout the year for younger students ages 3-8. Just start where you are!
Students 9 and older can join until ~ the end of January but will need to make up any missed projects via summer workshops to be ready to start Art 2 the next fall.

Ehren Hotchkiss

Ehren Hotchkiss

Hi I'm Ehren! Art has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. I've always loved exploring the world with color and contrast. I studied at the school of Visual Arts and Design at Southern Adventist University and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from La Sierra University gaining experience in both graphic arts and applied arts such as drawing and painting.

I have 4 years of experience working with children and would say they have been the most rewarding 4 years of my life so far. There is nothing more thrilling than seeing a child's creativity blossom and watching their confidence in art and life grow. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to foster the next generation of creative artists in Murfreesboro TN and can't wait to see how each child grows.

Sara Daroogar

Sara Daroogar

Sara believes there’s no division between playing and learning art for children. Art is a place to learn and encourage each individual’s ideas and to explore possibilities.

Sarah is a visual arts teacher who has taught several years in classes of all ages. She has experience in multiple learning styles which include drawing, painting, sculpting and graphite. Living and traveling to the Middle East, France and Armenia, inspired her art, encouraging her to explore diverse art cultures and to introduce the differences and similarities in outlooks to students through art. She has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and many years acquiring knowledge and experience in art schools and classes. She has enjoyed creating art for most of her life, especially life and nature oil paintings, graphite and charcoal portraits, cameos and 3D sculptures.

It has been her passion to inspire and teach art to children. Sara eagerly anticipates the opportunity to cultivate meaningful connections with all the bright and talented students at Children’s Art Classes.

She has been trained specifically in the Children's Art Classes curriculum and has been enthusiastically teaching this program since 2017. Striving for the highest quality in teaching, she works closely with the founder of Children's Art Classes. Her mission is to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

Martha Studied Social work at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She moved to the United States in 2003 with her family. Throughout her children's school years, Martha volunteered in the public school system and tutored reading and writing. Martha is the proud mother of three adult children. She holds a part-time position in social work. In her free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, jewelry making, sewing and gardening.
