This year, we are offering half-day and full-day art camps! 
Students come in every day (Monday – Friday) for a week. Concentrations include ebony pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpting, character and storyboard creation (Anime/Manga), and so much more. Reserve your spot today! Click here for more information.
Dates: June 16-August 22; Some weeks feature full-day art programs (9am – 3pm) and some weeks feature half-day art programs (9am – 12pm or 1pm – 4pm).
Ages: Ages 5 and up; limited workshops available for 3- and 4-year-olds.

OUR MISSION 

At Children’s Art Classes – Fairfield, our goal is to help children tap into their natural creativity and discover a passion for art. We offer programs of study for children ages 3 through 18. Classes are designed by age and meet once a week throughout the school year. Class sizes are limited to 12 students or less (depending on the level) to ensure that each child gets the support they need to succeed.

If your child loves to draw, they will love Children’s Art Classes!  We are NOT an arts and crafts studio. CAC has a proprietary curriculum built over 26 years by our founder, Barbara Gay, an art educator of over 40 years (and counting!).  Our comprehensive programs explore more than 40 mediums of art, building gradually upon foundational skills and concepts. We also offer homeschooling programs, summer workshops, birthday parties, and more. Our art classes provide children with engaging activities and a solid foundation in the arts. Register today!

Meet Our Team

Julie Rogers

Julie Rogers

Julie was inspired by her elementary art teacher to pursue a similar career path. As a certified art educator, she has spent the past 24 years realizing that dream, teaching in public and private school settings throughout Connecticut and Virginia.

To prepare for this role, Julie attended Fairfield University, majoring in both Studio Art and Marketing.  She went on to earn her master’s degree in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University.

Mrs. Rogers is enthusiastic about working with her students to help each individual achieve their personal best. She aims to inspire her students to be intrinsically motivated to create art, in turn strengthening their critical thinking and fine-motor abilities.

About Karin Mansberg

 

Karin is a printmaker and a teaching-artist. She has over ten years' experience in teaching art, printmaking and interdisciplinary classes to various age groups -- from preschoolers to adults.

Karin’s own fine art studies began at age 8 when she attended Tartu Children’s Art School for five years in Tartu, Estonia. She always wanted to become an artist and later on in college found she loved teaching. Karin earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from Western Connecticut State University and is currently working towards her K-12 Art Teacher Certification at Central Connecticut State University.

Karin believes that young artists training their observational skills are learning so much more than just drawing - they learn to become better thinkers.

Monica & Jay Dulski

Monica & Jay Dulski

Monica and Jay are excited to be owners of Children’s Art Classes in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Monica is a graduate of The Rhode Island School of Design, where she majored in Textiles. Her work earned her a Fulbright Grant to Poland and allowed her to explore sociopolitical influences on contemporary Polish textile art. This experience led her to pursue an interdisciplinary graduate program in Eastern European studies at the University of Bologna in Italy, where she earned an MA degree. For the last 10 years, Monica has been working at a consumer products marketing company in Connecticut. She managed the product development of jewelry and handbags, and grew into a senior manager role within the Human Resources department. She is excited to bring all her skills to bear on Children's Art Classes as an owner and teacher!

Jay works in commercial banking in New York City. He holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BA in Economics and International Relations from Boston University. Though visual arts were never his strong suit (it all went downhill after his third-grade art teacher said his strawberry drawing looked like an apple), Jay is a classically trained singer (first tenor) with extensive experience singing in church choirs, college a capella groups, and chamber music groups.  He shares Monica’s enthusiasm for the arts, both as a key component of a well-rounded individual and as a passion that can be carried into adulthood.

Monica and Jay firmly believe that art equips children with invaluable life skills. The ability to translate abstract ideas into tangible (or audible) works of art leads to creative problem solving in all areas of life. At a time when children need more creative outlets than ever before, they are thrilled to offer kids a safe space to learn, explore, and create. Monica and Jay would not be who they are without a handful of dedicated and supportive arts teachers and their hope is to pay it forward to a new generation of students through CAC Fairfield!
