Location: Children’s Art Classes – Aurora, CO
Start Date: Summer or Fall 2025
Pay: Unpaid with volunteer credit and community service hours available.
Are you a high school student who loves working with children, enjoys art, and wants real classroom experience? Join us at Children’s Art Classes (CAC) Aurora as a Student Intern and gain valuable experience supporting young artists in a structured, creative environment. All supplies, curriculum, and guidance are provided. You’ll work alongside professional art educators while building confidence, leadership skills, and community service hours.
Who Should Apply:
- High school students entering grades 10–12
- Interested in early education, art, or teaching
- Responsible, friendly, and eager to learn Enjoy working with children ages 5–12
- Able to work with peers (we have ages 13–17 enrolled)
Intern Responsibilities:
- Assist instructors with classroom setup and cleanup
- Support students with materials and techniques
- Help manage classroom behavior and organization
- Assist with birthday parties, workshops, or seasonal events (if available)
- Assist with pictures and social media if needed
Skills You’ll Develop:
- Classroom leadership and communication
- Time management and responsibility
- Public speaking and student interaction
- A deeper appreciation for education and the arts
Requirements:
- Must have parent/guardian permission to participate
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Priority availability is weekends; classes are also held weekday evenings
- Note that our traditional school operates October to June. Hours and schedules change during summer camps
